Behind the Scenes with the WPZOO Keeper Staff
The staff at the Washington Park Zoo would like to invite everyone to become a part of your Zoo.
|
The Washington Park Zoo’s mission statement emphasizes conservation, education and recreation. The staff here strives everyday to meet those goals and provide the best care possible for the animal collection and a pleasurable experience for the zoo visitors. The zoo is here to introduce you to the animals that you may never see in the wild and the staff tries to teach people how to live with nature to insure that children can benefit from all of us taking responsibility for the planet.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to run the zoo? To maintain the zoo it takes a truly dedicated group of individuals including the Animal Keeper staff who goes above and beyond the call of duty to provide all of the animals from the Hissing cockroach to the Cotton top tamarins with clean, safe and stimulating environments, the Zoo Vets who are on call 24 hours a day to handle any animal medical emergency, the Grounds and Maintenance staff who pays great detail to the work that they provide in maintaining the many flower beds, lawns and building and the a Administrative Staff who handles everything from admissions and budgets to permits and special events.
The future of the zoo is made stronger because of the support and commitment of our volunteers, local business contributors and the general public. We would like to invite you to become a part of the Zoo Family and Share the Care by donating your time, talents, items from the wish list or funds to help the zoo improve.
